Introduction

Tourism has become one of the prime choices with the increasing demand of the tourists across the world. Bangladesh being abundant with cheap labor can avail this opportunity if the people can be successfully converted into skilled resources for the tourism sector. Considering the profound demand of the subject National University included BBA honors in Tourism and hospitality management from the session 2015-2016. Shiddheswari College got the approval of opening Tourism and Hospitality management Department in 2017. Department of Tourism and Hospitality started its journey in Shiddheswari College from 2018-2019 session with the objective of creating skilled human resources for the rapidly flourishing tourism industry. This department is enriched with three faculty members. At present Md. Mahabub Hashan is the chairman of this department. Students here do not just study in classroom rather get involved in co-curricular activities like study tour, cultural programs, celebration of religious events, sports, etc. this department is providing the students with well decorated classroom facilities, seminar and lab facilities. Seminar is well arranged with all necessary academic books of related courses of National and International authors. The department through its academic and others activities relentlessly trying to groom its students so that they can possess intellectual, entrepreneurial and practical business skills. Students are acquiring business and management skills specially to serve Tourism and Hospitality industry of Bangladesh and across the world.
