Introduction

The Department of Mathematics of this institution started functioning in 2001. The Department is conducting 4 year B.Sc. Honours courses. Presently the academic programme is running in grading system. The B.Sc. Honours Examination in Mathematics of each academic year is held at the end of each year National University. The result of a candidate is determined on the combined results of all academic year including. Parts written examinations, incourse examinations, viva voce and Practical examinations. There are nearly 400 students in the department who are taking courses in B.Sc. Honours. Mission of Mathematics Department To equip each student with a Mathematical background that is essential to study their own disciplines under various departments across the college. To create and spread knowledge in Mathematics through research and teaching so that it can serve as a resource center of Mathematics expertise at least at the national level. Departmental Seminar ensiched: The department has a seminar library. Students get ample facilities to use these books in the library. Departmental Laboratory: In the department there are some courses on computer programming. Consequently the department has a computer laboratory with up-dated versiong 25P.C. Extra Curriculum Activities: With a view to providing knowledge outside the text book, the department organizes study tours in several important and historical places under the supervision of the teachers. This Department also arrange different National and International cultural Programs.
